Activity: INVEST AL-93

As of 7pm, INVEST 93 is crossing Florida heading in a westerly direction, located near Gainesville, Fl and will continue on a westerly direction. Chance of development continues to be 40%.

In looking at several sources, it looks like there are mainly 3 scenarios for the future of INVEST 93.

1. The center tracks too far north and never re-emerges over the Gulf. Case closed.

2. The center re-emerges over the Northern Gulf and basically tracks westward along the Coast where there may be the least amount of wind shear and the most favorable atmospheric conditions. In this case, the proximity to land would be a significant inhibitor to development.

3. The center re-emerges over water even further south and tracks further offshore and westerly. The system would then have a lot of warm Gulf waters to re-develop over.

The latest intensity forecast is still below Tropical Storm levels.

Bottom line, just too soon for forcasters to know. Best is to monitor this event and not let your guard down until it is past you.

Per the NHC, "Regardless of development, heavy rainfall could produce localized flash flooding over portions of Florida through Wednesday. Heavy rainfall could also cause flash flooding for portions of the north-central Gulf Coast beginning late Wednesday and continuing through Friday.".

Again, nothing to panic over. Those along the N. Gulf coastal areas, especially those along the Alabama to Louisiana coastline should at least monitor this activity and your local official forecasts and if you are along those coastal areas and in Flood Prone locations monitor your local authorities for flood alerts.

If a named storm were to form, the next name would be Dexter.

Of course always monitor and rely on your local 'Official' weather sources.
